Snook

Snook have a distinct lateral line, high and divided dorsal fin with a  sloping forehead. They have large mouths, protruding lower jaws and grow much larger than other snook.

Find them in Central Florida and further south, mostly inshore, coastal or brackish waters. Snook can be found along mangrove shorelines, bridgesg and seawalls, as well as nearshore around reefs and pilings.  Most snook weigh out at 5 to 8 pounds. The Florida records is over 44 pounds.
