Red Snapper

Red Snapper are of course red, but vary from darker reds to a pinkish red. They have a long triangular snout, a pointed anal fin with no dark lateral spot.

Red Snapper are found throughout mid and south florida offshore waters, up to 45 pounds, but average around 20 pounds. Red Snapper can live up to 20 years, spawns June to October. Feeding on crustaceans and fish. The Red Snapper is found in both sandy and muddy bottoms.
