Golden Sandbar Shark

The Golden Sandbar Shark has a broad, rounded snout. The first dorsal fin is triangular, very high with a poorly developed dermal ridge between the dorsal fin. Sandbar Sharks are typically brown or gray in color with white underside, the upper and lower teeth are serrated. Found nearshore, up to 200 feet. Sizes are up to 6 feet Sandbar sharks are both predator and scavanger, they feed mostly near the bottom on fish and shellfish.
